There are 5 models of roller mills to choose from in Mix-Mill's new Sentry Series Feed Processors. The top of the line Sentry 6500 lets you accurately proportion, roll and blend up to 5 different ingredients simultaneously, at the touch of a button. It also displays the amount of protein, calcium, phosphorus and moisture in your finished feed, performs inventory control and calculates your proportioner dial settings.
The Sentry 6500 combines Mix-Mill's unique Magic Window computer, with an electronic touch control panel that has been field tested in over 1,000 installations, a two or three roll mill, and a highly accurate positive gear drive proportioner. Using information you enter from your most recent feed analysis, the Magic Window will calculate and display levels of protein and other nutrients in your ration while you are making it. While it calculates, the Magic Window also tells the producer both the "as fed" and "90% dry" matter of the total ration to assist producers who are using high moisture ingredients. When feed has been produced, the Magic Window displays the amount of each ingredient that has been used. It can also be connected to any IBM compatible computer to store inventory records and calculate costs. With the Sentry 6500, proportioner calibration has been virtually automated. To calibrate, simply enter the test weights of your calibration cans and the Magic Window will tell you instantly where to set your proportioner dials.
Mix-Mill's new Sentry 5500 is exactly the same as the Sentry 6500, but it comes without those features provided by the Magic Window computer. An optional counting system enables you to determine quantities of ingredients flowing through the mill. Here are some of the unique features found on both the Sentry 6500 and Sentry 5500.
To satisfy a producer who wants to roll large and small grains at the same time, Mix-Mill developed its patented adjustable split roller mill. We took the second 10" x 10" roll out of our basic roller unit and inserted two 5" x 6" rolls in its place. These small rolls are infinitely adjustable and move in and out against the remaining 10" x 10" roll. Mix-Mill was able to accomplish the same end result as having two separate roller units side by side, but with amazing simplicity and for less cost. We then took the savings and invested them in tough white iron rolls.
At start up, the vertical auger turns on, then the base auger, then the mill motor and then the proportioner. When the machine is shut down, it automatically reverses this sequence cleaning itself out so you never start your system under load.
The electronic touch control panel senses virtually any problem within the system as it happens. For example, if the flow of ingredients is interrupted, the mill will shut down, clean itself out, and the ingredient supply light will come on indicating that it is time to refill the bin.
Mix-Mill's electronic shear pin can sense instantly any obstruction affecting the proportioner auger and cause the system to shut itself down and clean itself out. Then it will automatically reset itself, eliminating the need for a mechanical shear pin. Again, all of this is achieved without moving parts.
Proportioner augers are easily removable for thorough clean out. Augers with special flighting such as those made for metering premix can be easily installed.
At Mix-Mill, we include features to help get the job done. For example, the Sentry 6500, 5500 and the 4500 come standard with a base auger motor, a complete calibration kit and a design that will allow up to three different ingredients to bypass the rolls.
Mix-Mill's control panel is wired at the factory. All you have to do is connect power to it. Each motor is individually fused within the dust tight control panel, and external wiring controls such as bin level switches are low voltage, so they are safe and less costly to install.
