There are several models of hammer mills in Mix-Mill's Sentry Series Feed Processors to meet your blending needs. The top of the line Sentry 4000 lets you accurately proportion, grind and blend up to 5 different ingredients simultaneously, at the touch of a button.

The Sentry 4000 is equipped with an electronic touch control panel that has been field-tested in over 1,000 installations, an 18" diameter hammer mill, and a highly accurate positive gear drive proportioner. Mix-Mill's Sentry 4000  comes with an optional counting system that enables you to determine quantities of ingredients flowing through the mill. Here are some of the unique features found on the Sentry 4000.

Our electronic timer has no moving parts. You can set it up to 9 hours and 59 minutes of running time and it is accurate to 1/60th of a second.

The Sentry 4000 panel includes automatic sequencing for startup and shut down. When the auto start is pressed the vertical auger turns on, then the base auger, the mill motor and then the proportioner. When the machine is shut down, it automatically reverses this sequence cleaning itself out, so you never start your system under load.

The electronic touch control panel senses virtually any problem within the system as it happens. For example, if the flow of ingredients is interrupted, the mill will shut down, clean itself out, and the ingredient supply light will come on indicating that it is time to refill the bin.

Mix-Mill's electronic shear pin can sense instantly any obstruction affecting the proportioner auger, and cause the system to shut itself down and clean itself out. Then it will automatically reset itself, eliminating the need for a mechanical shear pin. Again, all of this is achieved without moving parts.

Proportioner augers are easily removable for thorough clean out. Augers with special flighting such as those made for metering premix can be easily installed.

The Sentry 3000 is equipped with a wall-mounted, dust-tight, electric control panel for safety and reliability. Its circuitry permits the mill to be safely and easily started, monitored, and shutdown. Shut down occurs in stages.  The motor to the ingredient feed proportioner turns off ahead of the mill.  This stops the flow of incoming material.  After the mill processes the material remaining in the grinding chamber, the motor to the discharge auger turns off.  This allows the mill and the discharge auger to empty out.

The panel automatically senses system failure for any reason (lack of ingredient inflow or overload) and shuts the mill off. The controls have been designed to recognize an overload trip.  Location of the overload fault will be displayed on the panel. The operator must then turn the “START/ON/OFF” switch to “OFF” before restarting the machine.

The Amp Meter allows the operator to view the load on the mill motor and to optimize the rate of ingredient delivery accordingly.

An Auxiliary Switch permits extra motors such as pumps, fans or air conveyors to start up with the Hammer Mill. The main mill motor and all discharge auger motors are fused within the Control Panel for low cost installation and added safety.

An Electric Timer permits the mill to run for any time up to 2 hours.  The Timer shuts the mill off automatically. Continuous running can also be carried out.

At Mix-Mill, we include features to help get the job done. For example, the Sentry 4000 and the 3000 come standard with a base auger motor, a complete calibration kit and a design that will allow up to three different ingredients to bypass the grinding chamber.

The Sentry 2000 is equipped with the same type of electric control panel as our Sentry 3000, however it features a Single Ingredient proportioner with a 1/8 hp DC motor. It has 1 - 6” Proportioner Compartment.
Mix-Mill's control panel is pre-wired at the factory. All you have to do is connect power to it. Each motor is individually fused within the dust tight control panel.

The Sentry 1000 is equipped with an optional 4” or 6” single top inlet, which can be fitted with an optional slide gate and various hoppers. Magnets are mounted on the intake to remove ferrous material contaminants. Product is discharged with either a 3 ½” or 6” discharge augers to meet specific output capacity requirements, and are ordered separately.

The Sentry 100 is equipped with an optional 4” or 6” single top inlet, which can be fitted with an optional slide gate and various hoppers. Magnets are mounted on the intake to remove ferrous material contaminants. The Sentry 100 is designed as an economical and efficient “Drop Through” Mill. There is no auger base, all of the product discharge/outflow is by gravity through the bottom of the mill.

The Sentry 145 is equipped with an optional 4” or 6” single top inlet, which can be fitted with an optional slide gate and various hoppers. Magnets are mounted on the intake to remove ferrous material contaminants. The Sentry 145 is designed to discharge at a 45 deg angle with your choice of either a 4” or 6” augers to meet specific output capacity requirements and are ordered separately.
